In the spotlight

“It’s all about the team”

Alain, Managing Director in France, 4flow management

Alain Joyeux has been with 4flow since September 2021 and works as Managing Director for France. In this interview, Alain reflects on his experience building 4flow’s presence in France, on nurturing a collaborative team spirit, and on the opportunities that come when working across borders.

Could you tell us how your journey with 4flow began?
I joined 4flow in September 2021 as one of the early members of the team in France. Before that, I worked for the Renault Group, where I gained valuable experience in the automotive industry. Starting a new subsidiary for 4flow in France was an exciting challenge. When I joined, there were only a handful of us. Today, our team of over 40 people works in consulting, software and managed services. We had to assemble a team from scratch, hire talent across different regions, and onboard consultants to meet project demands.

What I love about 4flow is that even in such a fast-growing organization our values and the quality of our work remain consistent. This was especially important in the beginning, since many of our team members were collaborating remotely.

How did you support teamwork when working remotely?
Collaboration is central to how we work, and it starts with our mindset. At 4flow, we strongly emphasize teamwork. I always tell my team, “We’re here to support one another.” That could mean finding solutions together, sharing knowledge or simply helping a colleague who’s facing challenges. Regular team meetings are also crucial for maintaining alignment. These touchpoints allow us to discuss our successes, challenges and lessons learned. It’s important for me to always keep this spirit up, no matter how much we grow in the future.

Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for 4flow in France?
We see exciting opportunities on the horizon. The automotive industry has been central to our work in France so far, but we also see demand in industries like retail, consumer goods and aerospace. What’s exciting to see is that these different industries have common needs. For example, one trend we observe in the market across all these industries is supply chain orchestration.

That sounds interesting. Can you tell us more about the opportunities around supply chain orchestration?
Supply chain orchestration is about creating harmony between different supply chain elements, like transportation, inventory and data. It’s an area with immense potential, particularly for organizations operating at a global scale. We’re working with clients to develop proof-of-concept projects that highlight how supply chain orchestration solutions can bring tangible benefits. By demonstrating the impact step by step, we’re creating sustainable success for our partners.

We’re also seeing a shift toward digitization in the supply chain. Even with budget constraints in some industries, companies are prioritizing digital technology to achieve greater efficiency and scalability. It’s an exciting time to be part of this transformation!

What continues to inspire you in your work at 4flow?
For me, it’s all about the team. At 4flow, there’s a spirit of collaboration and shared purpose that’s incredibly motivating. Seeing how we’ve grown in France and knowing the potential for the future keeps me excited. I’m committed to fostering this team spirit as we continue to grow.

Do you have a favorite memory since joining 4flow?
There are so many moments that come to mind! From team-building events to supply chain workshops, I appreciate every opportunity to engage with colleagues across regions. It’s always great to meet colleagues from all over the world, exchange ideas, and share success stories.

And how do you like to spend your weekends?
I’m from the south of France, so spending time in Provence is my idea of a perfect weekend. The region has a unique charm. From the weather to the beautiful landscapes, it’s a place where I love to relax and recharge. When I’m not in Provence, I enjoy traveling between Paris and other regions. Thanks to high-speed trains, I can quickly escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a slower pace of life. It’s these small moments of balance that add so much joy to my life.
