Transportation optimization with artificial intelligence

How can artificial intelligence be used for transportation optimization? The University of Münster and 4flow have been collaborating to answer this question – on July 5, 2019, the project partners presented their findings at 4flow’s headquarters in Berlin, Germany.

The objective of the joint project was to find innovative use cases for artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of transportation optimization. Among other things, the partners researched how to improve tactical planning efficiency in the areas of full truckload (FTL) and less than truckload (LTL) shipping. With this in mind, the project participants successfully created the basis for a new LTL model which can be used for tariff forecasting. The new model will now be developed further and integrated into 4flow’s existing model for FTL forecasting.
